Concert Chorale
Dr. Betsy Cook Weber, director
The Moores School Concert Chorale is the school's premier large choral ensemble and consists of 48 advanced singers. Membership consists primarily of junior and senior music majors, but is also open to experienced choral singers from other departments. The purpose of this ensemble is to provide high-level choral experiences for undergraduates. Performance literature includes a wide variety of musical styles from the standard concert repertory.
The Concert Chorale established itself as an active and distinguished ensemble under the leadership of Dr. Charles Hausmann. The group was featured at conventions before the membership of TMEA (Texas Music Educators'Association) and the Southwest Division of ACDA (American Choral Directors Association). In addition, they performed in Mexico City with professional orchestras there.
Under Dr. Weber's leadership, the Concert Chorale has been selected for performance before the membership of the Texas Music Educators Association in San Antonio in 2005 and 2008. They were also an invited choir for the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association convention in Miami in 2007.

| “Your performance with the Concert Chorale at the ACDA Convention ini Miami was superb! Everyone I know who attended the convention and heard your Chorale (including colleagues from Michigan, Texas, New England, and current students at Rhode Island College) listed them as one of their favorite performing ensembles at the convention. I was blown away!..." |

| "I heard the University of Houston Concert Choir (sic) today and I want to 'tell the world' that they were absolutely stunning… In my opinion, they had it all: Balanced, rounded program, superb technique, musically interpreted, emotionally moving… If you ever have the opportunity, take a listen to Houston 's Concert Choir conducted by Betsy Cook Weber. It was my first time to meet her and hear the group sing. I hope it isn't my last." |
