Houston Symphony Chorus

As the principal chorus of the Houston Symphony this highly selected ensemble of advanced choral singers presents masterworks from the choral/orchestral repertory under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductors. Each season the Chorus performs 5 concert series for the symphony. The 175 members are selected from the greater Houston community. This chorus is open to graduate students for credit when approved by the Director of Choral Studies It is also open to advanced undergraduate students (without credit) who wish to learn and perform the great choral masterworks at a professional level. Graduate Choral Conducting students are encouraged to perform in this ensemble during the course of their study (MM students - 1 semester, DMA students - 2 semesters). The assistant conductor of the Houston Symphony Chorus is a Graduate TA appointed by the DCS.
Ensemble credit by approval of the DCS.
