MSM's new 1998 Bennet-Giuttari Continuo Organ . . .

Harpsichord Clearing House

The University of Houston Moores School of Music has acquired a new baroque-style continuo organ.  This 1998 John Bennet & Glenn Giuttari instrument is based on the kisten organs of the 17th century (Manderscheit, Nuremburg).  All the pipework is of wood.

The sticker action/palletbox lies directly beneath the keydesk, giving very precise control of pipe speech.  A single-fold wedge reservoir on 55mm gives gently to flexible wind.  The instrument seeks to be specific in its usage with mild voicing for continuo and in small settings and chapel use.  No attempt has been made to make the instrument eclectic.
