OPERA PERFORMANCE: Edythe Bates Old Moores Opera Center presents:
|
|
Nine by Maury Yeston
|
| The film director Guido Contini
has writer's block about his next project. He goes on vacation to
a spa in Venice to regain his health and to get ideas. But he can't
escape all the women in his life, including his wife, his mistress,
his producer, his star, his critics, and his mother. Sexy, stylish,
and a bit surreal, Nine is unlike any musical you've ever
seen. |

L'Italiana in Algeri (The Italian Girl in Algiers)
by Gioacchino Rossini
|
|
In search of her kidnapped lover, an
Italian woman is hijacked on the high seas and added to an Algerian
harem. But those Algerians have severely underestimated the powers
of a good Italian woman and a well-aimed bowl of pasta. This zany
crowd-pleaser explodes on the stage and will show you what would
happen if Sophia Loren met the Marx Brothers.
