Reynaldo Ochoa holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Houston, and a Doctorate Degree in Composition from Rice University. Interested in all facets of music, he continues to be active as conductor, composer, and performer. Dr. Ochoa has performed with the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Mexico City Symphony Orchestras. Currently he is Conductor / Music Director of Symphony North of Houston. He has also conducted area professionals in concerts and recording sessions. Dr. Ochoa has served in various capacities as conductor, producer, orchestrator and performer for Discos M M and for radio and television.

Recent commissions include works for the Houston Symphony as well as works for individual members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic. The Rainmakers Helper received sixteen performances by the Houston Symphony and was broadcast on KUHF Public Radio. At present, Dr. Ochoa holds the position of Affiliate Artist in electronic music at the University of Houston. He has served as chair for the classical music panel of the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and as past president of the Houston Composers' Alliance.
